A Waushara County man will spend more than two decades in federal prison for distributing child pornography.
The U-S Attorney’s Office says 39-year-old Thomas Kerl of Redgranite was sentenced to 262 months Thursday after pleading guilty in February.
Prosecutors say Kerl began using multiple platforms to trade “extremely graphic” images in 2018 and also took part in disturbing chats about sexually assaulting children.
Kerl was previously convicted of abusing two young children in Columbia County back in 2001.
The judge said a long prison sentence was necessary to protect the public.
