From a walk-on in Madison to a member of the U-S Olympic rowing team – you can add Maddie Wanamaker’s name to the long list of Wisconsin rowers who have competed in the Olympics.
At least one rower from Wisconsin has been involved in every Olympics competition since 1968.
U-S-Rowing announced Wanamaker would be competing in Japan at the Women’s Olympic Selection Camp Friday in New Jersey.
The University of Wisconsin graduate helped the Badgers to a pair of top-10 finishes at the N-C-A-A rowing championships during her years in Madison.
She is from Neenah.
Wanamaker becomes the 16th women’s rower in Olympics history.
