The Wisconsin Second District Court of Appeals has ruled in favor of a child sex trafficking victim who killed her trafficker.
The panel said last week that 20-year-old Chrystul Kizer can argue that Randall Volar the Third drove her to do it.
Kizer was 17 when she killed Volar in Kenosha in 2018.
Wisconsin statutes provide an affirmative defense for human trafficking victims if the offense they committed was the direct result of being trafficked.
A judge in Kenosha County determined two years ago the crimes she’s charged with weren’t a direct result of her being trafficked.
Kizer’s case has a status hearing scheduled for June 25th.
