Packers tight end Jace Sternberger will have to sit out the first two games of the 2021 season.
The N-F-L announced Thursday Sternberger had violated its policy on substance abuse.
The third-year player will miss games against the New Orleans Saints and Detroit Lions. He’ll be eligible to return in Week 3 against the 49ers.
The suspension doesn’t affect his ability to take part in offseason programs, training camp, or the preseason.
Initially, he won’t count against Green Bay’s 53-man roster.
