Manitowoc Fire And Rescue Crews responded early this morning to a call for a fire at Brix Restaurant and Bar.
Chief Todd Blaser tells us that crews arrived at the downtown establishment around 3:30 a.m. and upon arrival encountered a small smoldering fire contained to the kitchen area.
Blaser says the sprinkler system properly activated within minutes of the fire which resulted in helping to contain and extinguish the fire within minutes. Crews were on scene for approximately 45 minutes. No dollar estimate is available at this time.
Brix is closed today with plans to open for bar and limited food service tomorrow.
