Milwaukee police say the 16-year-old unlicensed driver of a stolen SUV has died in a head-on crash.
Officers tried to stop the vehicle Tuesday night just before 9:00 PM, but the driver sped off.
Officers had ended their pursuit just a few moments before the fleeing SUV slammed head-on into another vehicle.
A report from the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office identifies the teenage driver as Demonta Hambright Junior.
Police estimate he was going 50-60 miles an hour at the time of the crash.
Two of the three people in the vehicle he hit suffered life-threatening injuries.
All are reported to be in stable condition, but their names haven’t been released.
