A Wisconsin judge will decide Friday whether to file charges against former Wauwatosa police officer Joseph Mensah.
Jay Anderson’s family asked a Milwaukee judge to launch a John Doe investigation in February.
Anderson is one of three people Mensah shot to death over a five-year period.
In each case, prosecutors declined to file charges.
Anderson’s family is trying to bypass prosecutors by having the judge hear witness testimony and decide whether to file those charges directly.
Anderson was sitting in a parked car when the officer shot him to death four and a half years ago.
