Manitowoc spotted visiting Kewaunee County an early 4-2 lead before rallying to win 11-to-6 in American Legion Baseball action at Municipal Field.
Josh Uhlhorn of Manitowoc Lutheran, the 2nd of 3 pitchers, earned the win in relief. Jacob Gallagher of Lincoln led the offense going 2-for-3 with an RBI and 2-runs scored.
August Hecker of Lutheran knocked in a pair of runs with 2-base hits while Brillion’s Robert Shimek added a 2-for-4 performance and played outstanding defense.
Shimek was credited with 2-diving catches in the outfield as well as throwing out a runner at the plate in the top of the 6th.
Manitowoc also used its’ speed, racking up 7 stolen bases..led by Lincoln’s Jackson Schmidt with 3-steals.
Legion Post-88 (now 2-and-0) travels to play in the Marinette Firecracker Tournament this weekend.
Their 1st game is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 vs. Menominee, Michigan.
