Closing arguments and deliberations are expected later today in the jury trial for the Appleton man accused of murdering a Manitowoc man and his daughter nearly three years ago.
Karl Hess is facing two counts of First-Degree Intentional Homicide with Use of a Dangerous Weapon in the deaths of Richard and Jocelyn Miller at their home on Dale Street, Manitowoc, in September 2018 and arrested for the crimes in early 2019.
Hess took the stand in his own defense this afternoon with the original motive purportedly being money that Hess allegedly knew was in the Miller residence.
He’ll face a mandatory life sentence if convicted on either count.
