Circuit Judge Christopher Foley has doubled down on his ruling about former Milwaukee Police Chief Alfonso Morales.
At a Thursday hearing, Judge Foley repeated his contention that Morales was illegally demoted last year.
Barring any last-minute settlement, he says Morales should be reinstated as chief July 3rd.
An attorney for the city asked Foley to stay his order until a state court of appeals makes its ruling on the case.
The judge said no, telling both sides his order remains.
