A preliminary hearing for a murder suspect from Manitowoc has been delayed while he hires an attorney.
19-old Joshua Walcott faces a charge of first-degree intentional homicide.
Walcott has a representative appointed by the public defender’s office, but he told a judge Friday he wants to hire a private attorney.
The hearing was delayed until July 29th.
Prosecutors say Walcott shot Malachi Moore to death during an argument in mid-May.
The public defender will continue to handle the case until Walcott finds a new attorney.
