Rita Eve (Walters) (Osterbrink) Zweck, age 87, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Monday, June 14, 2021 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center in Manitowoc.
Rita was born on April 30, 1934 in Bevent to the late Joseph and Celia (Grulkowski) Walters. She attended school at St. Michael Catholic School, Wausau. On April 19, 1952, Rita married Joseph H. Osterbrink in Wausau. Together they had 11 children and farmed together on the family farm in the Town of Rib Mountain until 1974. They then moved to St. Nazianz and Rita worked at Lakeside Packaging and Mirro Aluminum in Manitowoc. After a few following moves, they settled in the Kewaskum area where Rita worked at Regal Ware until her retirement. Rita was a member of the Kohlsville volunteer fire department for some years and then joined the Kewaskum volunteer fire department. On August 24, 2012, Rita married Edward Zweck in Merrill. He preceded her in death on November 15, 2015. Rita later moved to Manitowoc to be by family.
Survivors include Rita’s nine children, Veronica Sipiorski, Milwaukee; Debora Schad, Manitowoc; Karen Osterbrink, West Bend; Barbara Osterbrink, Sheboygan Falls; Susan (Mike) Kreif, Sheboygan; Carol (Dave) Fields, Sheboygan Falls; Elizabeth (Jim) Dougherty, Ypsilanti, MI; Robert Osterbrink, Grove Town, GA; and Pamela Wesley, Las Vegas, NV; 16 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Jeanette Thomas, Milwaukee; her dear, lifelong friend, Mary Richter, Franklin; also other relatives and friends. Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Celia Walters; her first husband, Joseph Osterbrink; two sons, Joseph Jr. and Arthur; brother, Roger Walters; and her second husband, Edward.
A Life Celebration Social for relatives and friends will be held on Thursday July 1, 2021, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 North Water Street, located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home.
