If nothing changes, former Milwaukee police chief Alfonso Morales could walk back into his old office Saturday.
A judge ruled last month that Morales had been illegally demoted.
He ordered that the former police chief either be reinstated or paid by the city for breaching his employment contract.
An attorney for Morales said Tuesday there was still no sign of a deal.
It could cost about a million dollars to buy out Morales’ contract.
Time is running out for the city of Milwaukee to cut a deal of some sort – or, reinstate him.
