The Mishicot Girls Softball team last night brought home the school’s 2nd ever championship trophy with both occurring in the last 4-months.
The Indians defeated Juda/Albany 6-to-3 in the title game of the WIAA State Tournament played at UW-Green Bay.
Mishicot snapped a 3-all tie by scoring 3-runs in the bottom of the 6th and winning pitcher Ashlyn Bennin set the Panthers down in order in the top of the 7th to secure the victory.
Avery Briggs also went the distance and took the loss.
The Indians of Coach Dawn Shimek finish their magical season with a record of 27-and-3 while Juda/Albany wound up 18-and-7.
Mishicot earned a berth in the championship game by edging Phillips 2-to-1 in the semifinals yesterday morning (June 29th)
