The Milwaukee Fire and Police Commission says it will reinstate former Police Chief Alfonso Morales Thursday.
The action will be taken during a scheduled commission meeting.
Morales retired last August after the commission demoted him, then he sued for damages.
A Milwaukee County judge ruled Morales should be reinstated July 3rd – unless he and the city settled the lawsuit.
The former chief’s legal team agreed to hold off until today (July 12th) so settlement negotiations could continue.
The commission issued a statement, saying Morales would get his former job back today – then it was delayed until Thursday.
