A charge of first-degree intentional homicide has been filed against 23-year-old Chandler Halderson.
That was added to the list of charges after the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the human remains found in the Town of Cottage Grove as his father.
His mother, Krista Halderson, is still missing.
The Dane County Sheriff’s Office says it considers that missing persons case a homicide now.
An autopsy showed Bart Halderson had been shot multiple times, and his body had been dismembered.
Investigators say witnesses tell them about seeing the son last week near the wooded area where his father’s remains were found.
