Charges have been filed in Milwaukee County against five suspects who are accused of throwing explosives at police officers last week.
The officers were injured, but have returned to duty.
Investigators identify the suspects as 55-year-old Demetrius Powell, 27-year-old Lawrence Turner, 20-year-old Gerrell Bufford, 19-year-old Derek Smith, and 18-year-old Javaier Thompson – all of Milwaukee.
The device they threw has been described as a powerful pyrotechnic.
When it went off, the blast was so strong it activated the police squad car’s airbags.
