Alfonso Morales and the city of Milwaukee have reached an agreement meaning Morales won’t return as police chief.
Morales will receive $626,000, according to Mayor Tom Barrett, but the settlement still has to be approved by the Common Council.
A judge had ruled Morales was demoted illegally last year. He had been set to return to his former position Thursday.
If the Common Council doesn’t give its approval to the settlement, Morales’ return date will be postponed until next month so things can be worked out.
