The Wisconsin Department of Justice says the shooter who killed a 22-year-old man at a Caledonia gas station actually killed himself later Tuesday morning.
D-C-I Agents say 32-year-old John McCarthy shot himself after confronting an undercover Racine County sheriff’s investigator.
Both McCarthy and the investigator were wounded before McCarthy killed himself.
The wounded investigator is still in the hospital, but he is expected to recover.
His name hasn’t been released.
Until Thursday’s report, it was thought one of his shots had killed McCarthy.
