The Manitowoc Family Aquatic Center at Citizen Park has announced a number of activities planned for this summer.
The MFAC is organizing a Splash Time event for individuals with special needs on both Saturday, July 24th and Saturday, August 21st from 10am until noon. A news release explains it’ll be a great opportunity for families of those with special needs to network with each other. Manitowoc firefighters and lifeguards will be available to assist families that might need an extra hand.
Sponsors of the special needs days at the aquatic center are Fricke Printing Service, John C. and Catharine B. Miller Memorial Fund, and Manitowoc Professional Firefighters Association Union Local 368.
Then the Aquatic Center is hosting Jazz-at-the-Pool next Thursday, July 22nd from 5pm to 8pm. The talented Jake Opperman Jazz Band will be performing live at the event and the cost is $9.00. People are encouraged to bring their friends for a relaxing night out for people 21-and-older. Beer and wine will be available for purchase at the concession stand.
Also, scheduled for the aquatic center on Saturday, August 21st is Customer Appreciation Day between 1pm and 4pm with admission only $1-dollar a person. Later that day (on August 21st) is Teen Night from 4pm to 7pm with regular admission fees in effect.
