Criminal charges have been filed against a 26-year-old Kenosha man who shot a teenage girl who was stealing his car.
Rodney Robinson has a permit for his gun and he told officers he thought he could legally use it to defend his property.
The 13-year-old girl was shot in the back when she jumped into Robinson’s running car and tried to drive away from a gas station Friday.
She is expected to survive but is currently listed in critical condition while being treated at Children’s Wisconsin in Milwaukee.
If convicted on charges of first-degree reckless injury with a dangerous weapon and endangering safety by reckless use of a gun, Robinson could be sentenced to 25 years in prison.
