A pawn shop and gun store in Howard was the target of a burglar yesterday morning (July 22nd).
Two of the employees at the Midwest Trading Company in Howard were actually in the store when the alarm went off.
One employee sheltered in place in a locked office, while the other was able to leave the building.
It is not clear if the burglar was armed, or what was taken, but the Brown County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call with an armored truck to make sure the deputies were able to get the entrance safely.
Once they entered, however, the only person in the store was the employee in the office, who was safely escorted out of the building.
No arrests have been made at this point, and the investigation is ongoing.
