The Food and Drug Administration has announced a recall of several carrot products produced by Grimmway Farms due to a potential for Salmonella.
The Bakersfield California-based company President and CEO Jeff Huckaby said in a news release, “The recall was initiated as a result of a routine, internal company test.”
The products affected include the baby carrots and petite carrots under the Bunny Luv brand, petite carrots with the Cal-Organic brand, Shredded carrots with the Grimmway Farms name, and O Organics’ baby and rainbow carrots.
To date, no illnesses have been linked to this recall, but Salmonella is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
