The day after Badgers defenseman Corson Ceulemans was picked in the first round of the 2021 N-H-L Draft, a second Wisconsin hockey recruit was chosen.
Freshman Daniel Laatsch was taken by the Pittsburgh Penguins Saturday with the 215th pick during the 7th round of the draft.
His size draws a lot of attention to the six-foot-five Laatsch.
He played for the Sioux City Musketeers in the U-S-H-L last season, scoring two goals and notching 17 assists in 51 games.
He was a plus-23 on the season.
Laatsch is from Altoona, Wisconsin.
