The American Red Cross is continuing to experience a severe blood shortage as the number of trauma cases, organ transplants and elective surgeries rise and deplete the nation’s blood supply.
Officials with the Wisconsin Region say there’s an emergency need for donors to give now to ensure blood is on hospital shelves when patients need it. Locally, there’s a blood donor opportunity on Thursday (July 30th) at the Manitowoc Senior Center at 3330 Custer Street from 11:30 am to 4:30 pm.
To schedule an appointment to give blood or platelets, use the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit- RedCrossBlood.org, call 1-800-RED CROSS, or enable the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device.
