Kathleen M. Buvid, age 74, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Monday, August 16, 2021 at her residence with her loving companion Simon at her side.
Kathy was born on November 16, 1946 in Two Rivers. She was the daughter of the late James and Genevieve Belisle Greenwood. Kathy attended Washington High School in Two Rivers and graduated with the class of 1965. She was a homemaker most of her life and in later years she was employed at Shopko in Manitowoc for 10 years. On July 26, 1969 she married Lee A. Buvid at Two Rivers. He preceded her in death on May 25, 2012. Kathy was an avid reader. She had two children and a husband that she lived for. Kathy had a passion for dogs, having many throughout her life. Simon, her pet dog, was the love of her life for the past 10 years. Kathy was a wonderful cook and could never see a plate empty without filling it back up with food. She was outgoing and loved to talk to anyone.
She is survived by her two children, Scott “Bud” Buvid and special girlfriend, TJ Schuette, Two Rivers, and Lisakay Petkevicius, Manitowoc; sister, Annette Rohrer, Two Rivers; dear friend, Sandy Smith, Francis Creek; her pet dog, Simon and many nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Genevieve Greenwood; husband, Lee A. Buvid; sister, Winifred “Winnie” Yana; brother-in-law, Richard Rohrer; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold and Florence Buvid; and son-in-law, Markus V. Petkevicius.
A Life Celebration Social will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 North Water Street, Manitowoc. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel.
The family would like to convey special thanks to the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice team, the doctors and staff at Aurora Bay Care Medical Center and Holy Family Memorial Medical Center for all of the care they gave to Kathy.
