Bail is set at $1000 cash for a 30-year-old Manitowoc man after allegedly attacking a woman and threatening to kill her.
Brian A. Hoffman is charged with Second Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety with Use of a Dangerous Weapon, Suffocation and Strangulation, Aggravated Battery, Aggravated Battery with Intention of Causing Great Bodily Harm, Simple Battery, Criminal Damage to Property and Disorderly Conduct all with Domestic Violence Enhancers with additional charges of Possession of Mushrooms, Marijuana with Intent to Deliver, and Drug Paraphernalia.
Police responded Sunday morning to a residence in the 1200 block of Arlington Avenue for a report of Domestic Assault. The female victim admitted that she and Hoffman got into an argument where he allegedly punched her in the face multiple times, spit on and strangled her plus threatened to kill her family.
Hoffman also allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and told her that he was going to kill her.
She suffered visible injuries consistent with a Domestic Assault and Hoffman was booked into the County Jail. Conditions of bail are that Hoffman has no contact with the victim, does not possess any dangerous weapon or controlled substance, and maintains absolute sobriety from drugs and alcohol.
He remains in the County Jail with his initial appearance scheduled for August 30th at 1:30 PM.
