The unemployment rates in Manitowoc and Manitowoc County dropped slightly in July.
Numbers provided by the State Department of Workforce Development show the county has 3.6% of its workforce looking for work. That’s down from July’s rate of 4% and significantly down from last July’s number of 6.9%.
Meanwhile the city of Manitowoc checks in with a July jobless rate of 4% —a decline of a half percent from July’s 4.5% and nearly 2.5% lower than July’s 2020 number of 6.4%.
Preliminary July 2021 unemployment rates declined in all of 34 largest cities, including Manitowoc and in 71 of the state’s 72 counties.
Wisconsin’s unemployment rate remained at 3.9% in July for a fourth consecutive month compared to the national rate of 5.4%.
