A 44-year-old Two Rivers woman is free on a $2500 recognizance bond after she allegedly attempted to cash a forged check and stealing her sister’s vehicle.
Donna A. Duprey is charged with Forgery and Operating motor Vehicle without the Owner’s Consent. Authorities were informed Wednesday afternoon of the incident at U.S. Bank on Washington Street Manitowoc.
Duprey originally said her sister had written the check a few days prior but changed her story after it was discovered that the account had been closed for several years.
Police confiscated the remainder of the checks at her Two Rivers residence where Duprey admitted she stole her sister’s vehicle earlier this week and she was taken into custody.
The lone condition of bail is that Duprey have no contact with her sister and her initial court appearance is scheduled for September 27th at 1:30 PM
