No one was injured as a result of a fire yesterday at Amerequip in Kiel.
Kiel Fire Department Public Information Officer Kyle Preissner says crews were dispatched to the business at 1015 Calumet Avenue at approximately 3:45 p.m. for a report of smoke and flames in the building.
Crews encountered heavy smoke upon arrival and were guided to the painting area where flames were still visible.
Hose lines were deployed immediately, and the fire was knocked down within ten minutes.
Crews remained on the scene for an hour for overhaul operations.
No dollar damage estimate is available at this time and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Assisting on scene were Fire Departments from Chilton-New Holstein, St. Anna, and Elkhart Lake Kiel Police, Kiel Utilities, and the Manitowoc County Joint Dispatch Center.
