Kris “Buffe” J. Bastian, age 54, a resident of Manitowoc, passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021 in Athelstane, WI.
Kris was born on March 10, 1967 in Manitowoc to Bonnie (Leschke) Bastian and the late Roger James Bastian. He graduated from Washington High School in Two Rivers with the class of 1985 and then went on to attend Acme Tool and Dye School for education in machining. Kris had worked at Manitowoc Tool and Machining, Heavy Metal Fab, and was currently employed with EVM in Two Rivers. He enjoyed spending his time hunting, fishing, and riding his motorcycle. Above all, Kris enjoyed the time he had with his family and friends.
Survivors include Kris’ mother, Bonnie Bastian, Two Rivers; brother, Kevin (Ronda) Bastian, Manitowoc; sister, Kelli (Mike) Hagenow, Two Rivers; aunts and uncles: Debbie (John) Wachtl, Roger (Mary) Leschke, Jim Hoffman, and Jerry Bauer; nieces and nephews: Devon (Hailey) Schisel, Collin Bastian, Mickenzie Meissner, Morgan Meissner, Nicholas Hagenow, and Neena Hagenow; former step-daughters, Kaylei Hemb and Lily Hemb; Kris’ beloved cat, Taboo; special friend, Lisa Neerhof; also many cousins, other relatives and many friends. Kris was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Elmer and Esther Bastian; maternal grandparents, Raymond and Ruth Leschke; father, Roger Bastian; aunts and uncle: Connie Hoffman, Valerie Bauer, and Casey Leschke; and two nephews, Damon Schisel and Blake Bastian.
A Life Celebration Social for relatives and friends will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, October 1, 2021 at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 North Water Street, Manitowoc, located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home.
