Royal R. Peterson, age 79, a Manitowoc resident, entered eternal life on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Froedert Hospital in Milwaukee.
Roy was born on June 30, 1942 in Manitowoc, son of the late Royal A. and Cecelia (Sieracki) Peterson. He was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the class of 1960. Roy served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1964 stationed in Korea. After returning to Manitowoc, Roy continued his education at the Spencerian Business College in Milwaukee. Roy was interested in coin collecting, horseracing, and enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by his brother, James (Debbie) Peterson, Denmark, two sisters, Judy (Alan) Budnik and Jean (Noel) Hansen, both of Manitowoc; nieces and nephews, Tina (Tom) Hoffman, Niki (Jayson) Haneiwich, Randy Budnik and special friend, Chris, Jeff (Darcy) Budnik and their families. Many special cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Royal and Cecelia Peterson and a nephew Jeremy Hansen.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home with Deacon Alan Boeldt officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc. Military rites will be accorded by the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #731. Relatvies and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Following the funeral services there will be a luncheon held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home.
