A 27-Year-old Manitowoc man is free on $500 cash bail after allegedly striking his wife and threatening her with a gun.
Jerry A. Williams is charged with Strangulation-Battery and Disorderly Conduct all with Domestic Violence Enhancers and Being A Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
Police were dispatched to the Post Office over the weekend after a female caller said that her husband (Williams) had become upset with her claiming she was being unfaithful to him. Williams then allegedly slapped and grabbed her by the neck with both hands. He then sent her a message which allegedly said that if she told anyone that he had her gun “it won’t be pretty at all.”
Williams was eventually taken into custody at work where he initially denied physically assaulting his wife. Conditions of bail are that Williams has “no contact” with his wife or any premises she occupies and not possess any dangerous weapons.
His initial appearance is scheduled for October 11th at 1:30 PM.
