George P. “Chippy” Rehrauer, age 82, of Two Rivers, died Thursday afternoon, October 7, 2021, at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers.
George was born on April 9, 1939, in Two Rivers, a son of the late Victor and Augusta (Sinkula) Rehrauer. George graduated from Washington High School with the Class of 1957. On May 9, 1959, he married Ellen Eggers at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. George was a butcher at Walesh’s Market and Becker Meats and was then a custodian at Washington High School. In his retirement years, he worked at Pick N’ Save in Two Rivers and Calvary Cemetery in Manitowoc. Chippy enjoyed sports, he played softball for many years, coached the freshman boys basketball team, as well as coaching baseball and volleyball and was a huge Brewers, Packers and Bucks fan. George really enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s activities, taking care of his yard and was always willing to talk to people.
Survivors include his wife: Ellen (Eggers) Rehrauer; his children: Pam (Bob) Bauknecht of Two Rivers, Paula (Dale) Kodet of Manitowoc and Wade (Lori) Rehrauer of Two Rivers; his grandchildren: Jason (Andrea) Bauknecht, Kristen (fiancé, Neal Moegenburg) Bauknecht and her daughters, Gretchen and Elin Winter, Kayla (Marina) Kodet, Austin (Luisa) Rehrauer and their daughter, Lucia, Allison Rehrauer and Brayden Rehrauer. He is further survived by his brother: Phillip (Mary) Rehrauer; his sister-in-law: Joanne Eggers and brother-in-law: Jim Koller; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law: George and Ella Eggers; a brother-in-law: John Eggers and a sister-in-law: Kathleen Koller.
A funeral service will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd., Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Dave Pleier, assisted by Deacon Paul Gleichner, with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Tuesday afternoon from 4:00 p.m. until 5:15 p.m.
