Edward J. “Jack” Yohanek, age 71 of Reedsville, passed away unexpectedly Monday morning, October 11, 2021 at his residence.
Jack was born on November 3, 1949 in the town of Franklin, son of the late John and Florence (Daley) Yohanek. He graduated from Reedsville High School with the class of 1967. Jack proudly served in the United States Army. On June 8, 1974 he married the former Patricia Kohlbeck in Whitelaw. Jack worked last for many years for A.C.E. Builders until his retirement.
Jack enjoyed riding his motorcycles, fixing tractors and restoring his WWII Jeep. When not up in his workshop, he was out helping a friend. Jack also enjoyed watching old Westerns, trapping and heading up North to the cabin. “Grandpa” Jack had a special relationship with his four grandchildren whom he loved very much.
Quiet natured and even-tempered, Jack was a proud Patriot who loved his country, being a member of VFW #6179 out of Kellnersville.
Survivors include his wife: Patricia Yohanek, Reedsville; one son and daughter-in-law: Nicholas (April) Yohanek, Milton; one daughter-in-law: Sue Yohanek, Denmark; four grandchildren: Clara, Jackson, Maxwell and Andie; one sister and brother-in-law: Karen (Dennis) Baroun, Reedsville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Leroy Kohlbeck, Appleton, Marvin (Sherry) Kohlbeck, Pittsville, Jerome “Sonny” Kohlbeck, Whitelaw, Connie (Eugene) Schneider, Whitelaw, Dianne Schuh, Collins, James (Connie) Kohlbeck, Whitelaw, Gary (Sandy) Kohlbeck, Whitelaw, one special niece and nephew: Tricia and Joe; godparents: Patsy Steeber and Edward Yohanek, other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: John and Florence Yohanek; one son: Jon Yohanek; two sisters-in-law: Theresa Kohlbeck and Mary Kohlbeck.
A Memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 522 Tower Avenue, Kellnersville on Friday, October 15, 2021. The Rev. Santiago Turiano Jr. will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Friday from 12 noon until the time of Mass at 3:00 PM. Graveside Military Honors will be accorded by Kubale-O’Connell VFW Post #6179 of Kellnersville. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Kellnersville is assisting the family with arrangements.
