Manitowoc Lincoln High School sophomore Mason Gates captured the FRCC Boys Cross Country race for the 2nd year in a row.
Gates was accorded conference runner of the year after touring the 5K course in Green Bay last night in a time of 16-minutes & 19 seconds.
Mason was also named 1st team all FRCC while teammates Isaac Merten and sophomore Caleb Jatczak were selected 2nd team and Freshman Landon Zick was named Honorable mention.
Coach Michael Bubolz said the Ships boys placed 3rd as a team behind meet champion Notre Dame and runnerup Bay Port.
In the Girls division, Lincoln wound up 8th, defeating their rivals Sheboygan South and Green Bay Southwest.
Elena Zavala led Ships runners with a 35th place finish in a time of 21:51.
Lincoln runners now prepare for the Sectional meet next Saturday at Manitowoc’s Meadow Links Golf Course.
