A woman was arrested in Manitowoc yesterday evening (October 20th) after she attempted to steal over $1,500 in jewelry and other items from Walmart.
An officer was sent to the store just before 6:30 PM when the Loss Prevention team reported that they believed a woman was planning on stealing some jewelry.
The employee told the officer that she watched as a 36-year-old woman traveled throughout the store grabbing a multitude of items, to the point that her cart was nearly overfilled.
She also took some jewelry items out of its packaging and put them on before heading to the self-checkout.
The employee showed evidence that the woman only paid for around $11 in groceries, and walked out of the store with a full cart of unpaid items, estimated to be worth $1,587.
The woman was arrested outside the store and has been charged with Retail Theft and two Counts of Bail Jumping, all of which were felonies.
