We now know who has the best cheese curds in the state.
Travel Wisconsin received more than 1,900 restaurant nominations for the “Crown The Curd” competition, narrowing it down to three categories.
They named Culver’s as the best cheese curd with six or more locations.
The Great Dane Pub and Brewing won the multiple locations category, with restaurants in Dane County and one in Wausau.
After receiving 1,800 votes, the best single location curd went to Monroe Optimist Deep Fried Cheese Curds.
The once-a-year curds are only available during the Monroe Cheese Day Festival.
