The Two Rivers Personnel and Finance Committee will hold joint meetings the next three Wednesday nights to go over City Manager’s Greg Buckley’s nearly $35 million Executive budget.
Buckley spoke with Seehafer News about what was planned to be discussed during tonight’s session.
“It’ll be a joint meeting of the Finance Committee and our Utilities Committee to review the budgets for the various utilities. It’ll be a busy night,” Buckley explained. “Those utilities all together comprise a total of about $18.5 million in their budget.
A public hearing on the budget is set for November 29th with action to be taken by the Council on December 6th.
Meanwhile, the Council appeared to have come to a consensus on the parameters for the 2021-22 Winter Parking Ban.
“The consensus from Council was to leave the existing ordinance in place which prohibits on-street overnight parking on city streets from December 1st to March 15th,” Buckley said.
However, they are “encouraging the City Manager and Police Chief to use flexibility to announce periods when the ban will not be enforced.”
The Two Rivers City Manager says there were 45 such days last winter when the ban wasn’t needed to be enforced.
