There was plenty of High School Basketball Tournament action yesterday. Starting with the boys at the Rick Majerus Wisconsin Basketball Yearbook Shootout at Concordia University in Maquon yesterday, Manitowoc Lutheran improved to 9-0, with a lot of help from Trey Zastrow, after beating Oshkosh Lourdes Academy, 59-43. Zastrow lead the Lancers with 35 points. Brookfield Academy bested Roncalli 66-56. Chombi Lambert led the Jets with 17 points, including 4 treys. Also Sheboygan Lutheran fell to Kettle Moraine Lutheran 74-56.
At the Shawano Sundrop Shootout at the Kress Center, Little Chute dominated Two Rivers, 49-27, Denmark handled Kewaunee 56-*34, Menasha topped Superior 63-53, and Merrill put on an offensive show against Luxemburg-Casco, winning 82-57.
Mishicot came up short against Cuba City 72-47, at the Cuba City Holilday Tournament.
A couple of girls games of local interest as well. Fall River had little issue with Hilbert, winning 62-23 at their Holiday Tourney, while Waukesha West beat Sheboygan South 52-31.
There will be even more Holiday ournament action tonight as well. At the WBY Shootout, Manitowoc Lutheran AND Roncalli will both play back-to-back games. The Lancers will face Living World Lutheran, and the Jets will Face Mineral Point.
At the Kress Center, Valders and Wrightstown meet in a girl/boy double header. New Holstein and Freedom Boys will face of, and Kiel will host Plymouth.
In girls ball, Manitowoc Lincoln is traveling to Menasha, and Reedsville is hosting a double header. Manitowoc Lutheran will face Two Rivers, followed by Roncalli facing the host Panthers.
