The majority leader of the Wisconsin Assembly is rejecting calls to decertify the 2020 presidential vote.
A resolution was introduced last week by state Representative Tim Ramthun to overturn the results of the Wisconsin election.
Former President Donald Trump praised the move in a news release, but Assembly Majority Leader Jim Steineke says no action will be taken on the resolution.
Steineke says state law provides no mechanism for decertification.
He says he has always encouraged lawmakers to understand how the law works before putting out bills or resolutions.
Steineke says Ramthun’s resolution doesn’t follow the law.
