Bail is set at $1000 cash for a 28-year-old Manitowoc man after being taken into custody for the third time this month on Domestic Abuse Charges. Dashawn D. Buford has been charged in the latest incident with Battery and Felony Strangulation, each with Domestic Violence Enhancers and Three counts of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping. Buford had been arrested previously on November 7th and November 20th on similar charges. Police responded late Tuesday afternoon to a residence in the 1300 block of South 19th Street after the victim called 911. She stated that they (her and Buford) got into an argument once his 72-hour, no contact order was lifted from the November 20th incident. Buford allegedly punched the victim multiple times, ripped off her shirt and strangled her with both hands. Conditions of bail are that Buford have no contact with the victim and report to MPD for photos and prints upon release. He remains in the County Jail with his initial appearance scheduled for December 6th at 1:30. Meanwhile, initial appearances on his other two cases are scheduled for the morning of December 2nd.
