Two longtime successful area coaches have been recognized by the National Federation of State High School Associations as the State Coach of the Year as identified by their respective coaches’ associations.
One of the winter sports coaches receiving the honor is Jacque Bartow of Manitowoc Lincoln in gymnastics, according to a news release from the WIAA in Stevens Point.
In addition, one of the spring sports coaches named State Coach of the Year is Denmark’s Bill Miller in baseball.
Award recipients like Bartow and Miller are selected based upon a variety of criteria including their coaching record, background, coaching honors and involvement in community and school organizations.
