Two former lakeshore area athletes were able to celebrate a college football bowl victory on New Year’s Eve.
Offensive linemen Luke Goedeke of Valders and Davis Heinzen of Manitowoc Lincoln were on the winning side as Central Michigan held-off Washington State, 24-21, in the Sun Bowl at not-too-sunny El Paso, Texas.
Luke, Davis, and the Chippewas from the Mid-American Conference finished the season on a 5-game winning streak and a mark of 9-4.
