Local Assemblyman Paul Tittl was in Madison yesterday, along with the recipient of the “Hometown Hero” award.
Doug Schoen, the President of the Hilbert/Potter First Responders, was nominated for the honor by Hilbert Village Administrator Dennis Duprey due to his 21-years of service to the community.
Doug was a driving force behind the Hilbert/Potter First Responder Group in 1999.
Tittl explained in a news release, “Since the beginning, Doug has responded to over 90% of the calls the group receives each year. In 2020, Doug responded to 112 out of 126 calls. He has done this all while working full time, raising a family, serving as a member of the Potter Volunteer Fire Department, and taking an active role in the department’s summer youth softball league which serves over 100 area youth on an annual basis.”
