A teenager in Kiel was arrested late last week after it was learned they made a threat of violence toward Kiel High School.
According to Police Chief Dave Funkhouser, the School Resource Officer received information from the DOJ’s Office of School Safety that an anonymous tip had been received regarding a threat of violence at the High School for today.
The tipster did not give a lot of information, but investigators were able to determine the threat came from a 14-year-old student.
The teen admitted to making the threat and was taken into custody.
The teen, who was not identified, is facing a charge of Making a Terroristic Threat.
Chief Funkhouser praised everyone involved in the investigation saying, “This is an excellent example of cooperation between law enforcement and school safety officials with regard to the safety of children in our community.”
