Work has begun on the ecological restoration of Manitowoc’s Lower Henry Schutte Park.
The City of Manitowoc has partnered with Lakeshore Natural Resource Partnership, Friends of Manitowoc River Watershed, and Stantec Consulting Services, Inc. to conduct the restoration.
Portions of the park will be closed for the next two to three weeks as crews remove dense invasive species.
The park will remain open for recreational use throughout the project, but all park users must be aware of and avoid all construction areas.
For more details, citizens can contact the Department of Infrastructure – Parks Division between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at (920) 686-3580.
