Naming gifts were announced at Monday night’s Two Rivers City Council’s meeting for the Central Park West 365 project downtown.
City Manager Greg Buckley says they included a $65,000 gift for the Ice-Skating Ribbon from Two Rotary and a private donor.
“Funding for the water feature, a $60,000 naming gift from Formrite Companies of Two Rivers,” along with “a $50,000 naming gift for the outdoor pavilion gathering space from Bank First.”
Buckley adds The Council welcomed special guests, former Green Bay Mayor and Two Rivers native Jim Schmitt along with his brothers Bill and Father Carl Schmitt.
He said they “announced on behalf of the Schmitt family a commitment of $100,000 for the naming gift of the bandstand which will be named the Schmitt Brothers Stage in honor Of the famous barbershop quartet from Two Rivers, that were winners of the National Barber Shoppers competition in 1951 and went on to tour the world for the next 35 years.”
Fundraising as of Monday was at approximately $410,000 with a goal of $800,000.
