Bail is set at $3,000 recognizance for a 23-year-old Manitowoc man after his reckless driving caused a fight at a trailer park.
Alex W. Hauschultz is charged with Felony Resisting Arrest and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
Manitowoc Police responded Monday afternoon to a disturbance at Newport Village. Upon arrival, officers saw several people yelling at each other. It was learned that Hauschultz’s reckless driving upset his neighbors, causing a fistfight.
Hauschultz entered his truck, revving his engine at bystanders, accelerating towards them. He eventually stopped and was told he was under arrest before resisting to the point that officers had to take him to the ground.
One officer sustained an undisclosed injury during the scuffle, and he was finally subdued and taken into custody without further incident.
No conditions of bail were set by the court and an initial appearance is scheduled for April 11th at 1:30 p.m.
