Prevea Health is among the health care providers now scheduling newly-authorized second booster doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
The health care organization issued a Thursday press release to notify the public that the second booster dose has been made available for certain sectors of the population.
Prevea confirmed the authorization from the Federal Drug Administration and the recommendation by the Centers for Disease Control.
Adults ages 50 years or older, certain immunocompromised people ages 12 years and older, and people ages 18 to 49 years who received Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen COVID-19 vaccine are all eligible to receive a second booster.
People who are in one of the aforementioned groups can receive a second booster shot four months after receiving the first booster.
Prevea Health locations are accepting appointments statewide, even for individuals who are not currently established patients at Prevea. They recommend utilizing their MyPrevea app as the quickest method of making appointments, or by visiting MyPrevea.com. Additionally, appointments can be made via telephone by calling (833) 344-4373.
Other commonly-visited vaccine providers, such as Walgreens and CVS, are also accepting appointments for second booster shots.
